I only use Photo Deluxe,but for minor stuff such as outline and writing at photos.As concerns drawings,I'm not very good at digital manipulation,just try to colour and add some special effects.
Don't have CS and donno how to use it,but you can see Ironshod's work for help and talk to her.Here is a link to her page :dev*Ironshod.
Also for further and more detailed assistance just give a search on the net for tutorials on Photoshop CS or on the subject of the thing you want to create(such as a planet,a girl whateva).
Good luck with DA and CS!Hope you'll get the hang of it and hope you can come when you have the time and comment on my works.Sorry for the agressive advertisement!
